Cost depends on the size and pitch of your roof, the material you choose, and whether the decking underneath needs repair once the old system comes off. The most reliable way to get a real figure for your home is a free inspection.
The tile itself can last fifty years or more. The underlayment beneath it cannot. In Arizona heat that layer typically wears out well before the tile does, which is why a tile roof can look perfectly intact from the street and still be leaking. As a Polyglass preferred contractor, we can warrant that underlayment when we replace it.
Most homeowners policies cover sudden storm damage, including wind and hail. What they generally do not cover is damage that resulted from deferred maintenance or normal aging. This is exactly why documentation from an inspection matters, since it establishes what the storm actually did.
